How to Set Up Table Orders on the Timart Desktop App
Running an organized food business requires frictionless communication between your customers, front-of-house servers, and kitchen preparation teams. Timart Desktop’s Table Orders feature allows you to digitize your restaurant floor, manage menu availability by section, route orders to the correct prep stations automatically, and generate custom table QR codes for contactless dining.
This guide walks you through the initial configurations to get your dining room running efficiently on Timart.
🛠️ Step-by-Step Initial Configuration
To get started, open your Timart Desktop App, click on Table Order from the main sidebar menu, and select Orders from the drop-down options. Click on Activate Table Order to open the setup wizard.
📊 Mapping Products, Pricing, and Staff Assignments
Now that your restaurant framework is built, you will link your existing inventory items directly into this operational workflow.
1. Linking Products to Prep Stations
You will see your entire product catalog displayed by category. For every single item, assign a specific Menu, a Preparation Time, and an Order Handling Group.
-
Example: For Grilled Chicken, map it to the Main Menu, select Ready to Go, and assign it to the Grills group. This step guarantees that when a customer orders that specific item, the notification routes immediately to the correct staff monitor. Click Proceed.
2. Managing Section Pricing & Instant Availability
The system will display a tabular breakdown containing item details, quantities, cost parameters, and selling prices.
-
Dynamic Pricing: You can set premium pricing thresholds for high-end dining sections (like a VIP lounge) if needed.
-
Instant Stock Toggles: If a dish runs out mid-shift, simply switch the Availability Toggle to Off. This removes the item from active customer selections instantly so waitstaff do not take unfulfillable orders. Click Proceed.
3. Assigning Staff Permissions
Control which staff members see which orders to avoid cluttered notifications. Click Add a User, choose your team member from the pop-up list, and match them to their workflow section (e.g., assigning a bartender strictly to Bar Orders). Click Proceed.
📱 Activating Tables & QR Code Contactless Ordering
Once you hit proceed from the staff panel, a prompt will appear asking: "Would you like to add table QR scanner to your orders?" Click Yes, Add Tables and QR Scanner.
