How to Adjust Stock on Desktop

Stock adjustments help you keep your inventory accurate by accounting for restocks, losses, or damages.

Steps to Adjust Stock

  • Step 1: Go to the Homepage.

  • Step 2: On the menu bar, click on Adjust Stock.

  • Step 3: Click on New Adjustment.

  • Step 4: At the top of the screen, click on Click to Search for Product.

  • Step 5: In the search bar, enter the name of the product you want to adjust.

  • Step 6: Click on the product. On the side of the product, select the Reason for Adjustment (Restock, Lost, or Damaged).

If you choose Restock:

  • Step 7: Enter the quantity you want to add.

  • Step 8: Confirm or edit the purchase and selling price.

  • Step 9: Click on Make Adjustment to finish.

If you choose Lost:

  • Step 7: Enter the quantity lost.

  • Step 8: Confirm or edit the purchase and selling price.

  • Step 9: (Optional) Record it as an Expenditure by clicking on Record as Expenditure.

  • Step 10: Click on Make Adjustment to finish.

If you choose Damaged:

  • Step 7: Enter the quantity damaged.

  • Step 8: Confirm or edit the purchase and selling price.

  • Step 9: (Optional) Record it as an Expenditure by clicking on Record as Expenditure.

  • Step 10: Click on Make Adjustment to finish.

 


 

Troubleshooting

  • I can’t find “Adjust Stock” on the menu bar: Make sure you are logged into the desktop app and not in another section like Sales.

  • Product not showing in search: Double-check the spelling or ensure the product is already added to your inventory.

Q: Can I undo a stock adjustment once saved?
A: No, adjustments are final. You’ll need to create another adjustment to correct errors.

Q: What’s the difference between “Lost” and “Damaged”?
A: “Lost” is for missing or stolen items, while “Damaged” is for unsellable items due to breakage, expiry, or defects.

Q: Do adjustments affect my expense records?
A: Yes, if you choose to “Record as Expenditure,” the adjustment will also appear in your expenses.
